About Us
Dogs Do Learn is a family run business. Our family members are Karl, Jana, Anna, Katie, Mary, Sarah, Elizabeth, Samuel, and Benjamin. We are a Christian family that keeps Sabbath on Saturday. Because of that, we don’t work on Friday night or Saturday. During those times, we don’t reply to any messages, send updates, or do any work other than taking care of the dogs that are in our care. We give all the glory, honor, and praise for all that we do to Jesus. We thank Him for allowing us to work with owners and their dogs, helping to create peace and balance!
Meet the Staff
Katie Kleven
Katie is the owner of Dogs Do Learn and her passion is to connect dogs and their owners at a deeper level of relationship. Her family has had dogs since she was little. She has been training dogs since 2010. She volunteered at the Animal Humane Society for two years and was a volunteer dog trainer for the Hennepin Heelers 4-H club for five years and has been training professionally since 2018. She loves when owners come to the point in their training when they realize that dog training is all about the owner, not the dog. Katie does the majority of training, both sport and behavior modification. Her favorite is behavior training since she believes that all dogs can become well behaved.
Anna Kleven
Anna is another sister of Katie’s and does dog training for Dogs Do Learn. She was a volunteer trainer and leader at a 4-H club for eight years. She’s a great teacher and loves to help owners and their dogs have better relationships. She loves to learn and is always trying to find new ways to help owners and their dogs. She also does some of the dog walking and is our tech help.
Mary Kleven
Mary is also one of Katie’s sisters and helps out in many ways for Dogs Do Learn. She does dog boarding and walking for Dogs Do Learn. She’s very caring and loves dogs of all ages! She likes to brush, train, and play with the dogs she watches. She also has volunteered as a trainer for the 4-H dog club. She is currently working in the Doggie Day Care at PetSmart in Maple Grove.
Our Dogs
Pearl
Pearl is one of our few purebreds that we’ve had in our history of dogs. She is a long-haired Schipperke. At 8 years old, she is the highest energy of all our three dogs – she can walk or run for hours! She loves exploring new places and meeting new people. She could care less about toys, but absolutely loves people to pet her! Although independent, she loves to learn new things at training time.
